Just want to say thank you for a fantastic meal with great service for our Christmas lunch with you yesterday. We were a party of 13, but everything went smoothly with no problems at all and the food was amazing.

I have been to the Ongar restaurant lots of times which is why when it was left to me to arrange our christmas meal, I decided on the Wapping restaurant.

There were clear plates all round (Apart from some of the desserts as some of us were full to bursting point!) but the food was delicious. Everyone has been talking about it all morning and recommending it for client lunches etc.

Also the recommendation for the Dickens' Inn was great, a really nice pub, thank you! We will definitely be back again! Hayley

Just a few lines to compliment you & your staff on the meal & service we recently had this Sunday at Smiths in Ongar.

My wife Jayne & I travelled up for the weekend to stay with friends who live in Ongar & found to our delight they had booked us in for Sunday lunch at your restaurant. We have eaten there a couple of times in the past but this Sunday was exceptional made all the more enjoyable by the attentive server who I believe was called Amber. She really made the whole experience a pleasure for us, she was not only attentive & knowledgeable but witty, chatty & all in a lovely girl, a credit to your establishment. The food was excellent as always so just to say many thanks again.

Had Saturday lunch at Smiths a few days ago for the first time. Just sending you an email singing the praises of the restaurant, the staff the food and the wine - all were exceptional. Thanks for such a memorable lunch - we bang on about how wonderful the whole thing was to anyone who will listen. And also to a lot who won't (just hoping that some gem of praise will lodge in their sub-conscious for future reference). You never know, do you!? We will be back. Keep up the fantastic work. I recently had a business meeting in London and we went to Smiths of Wapping for our lunch. It was a fantastic experience, the food was perfectly cooked and the staff were friendly,cheerful and knowledgable abouth the menu. My fish was cooked to perfection. I made the mistake of telling my wife about the lovely food, I am now having to travel from Dorset to London for the weekend so that she can enjoy the excellent food and friendly atmosphere that make Smiths one of the very best. Great dinner last Saturday evening (9th July). Service, food and wine,all as usual, spot on. Third time we have visited you this year. Not a lot I hear you say, but we drive fifty minutes to get to you. I have seen some uncharitable (very old) comments on Trip Advisor about your establishment (noisy, raucous) . Smiths is certainly not a quiet serene restaurant but part of what we enjoy about you all is the fun, bubbly brasserie atmosphere. Great food, great staff and a gem in Essex. David

Visited you yesterday with the mc combies party.I cannot tell you how impressed we were with everything!from the staff who initially greeted us,the faultless divine food,to the moment we left.it was a total culinary delight ! I have never considered leaving a comment previously, however, I was so impressed after lunching at Smith's last Sunday that I could not resist. Firstly congratulations to the chef and team. Hi, we came in last Saturday evening (30th Oct) with a party of 8. I would like to compliment the chef on the quality of the food. Outstanding - i had skate for the main course and it was fantastic.Thank you, Mark.

Although Smiths has been on my radar to try for a long time I only visited for the first time last night. I had a wonderful experience! Your staff were all very happy, polite and accommodating. Wait staff were very attentive without being intrusive and all our dishes came out at the same time and were all hot - no easy feat for a table of 8 all having different dishes!! The ambience and decor and presentation of the tables were also well put together and perfect for the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Together with friends I dined at your restaurant for the first time on Friday evening, I was aware of your excellent reputation and was not disappointed. We were seated at table 20, everything was as I had hoped it would be, great  atmosphere, fabulous food and in particular your wonderful staff who were all very attentive and efficient which we all found very uplifting, given the average age was probably 18. I would particularly like to mention our waitress Frankie who was excellent, efficient smiling and enthusiastic a real delight. All your staff are a true credit to your restaurant. I am very much looking forward to my next visit.

I on behalf of family would like to thank the staff especially our waitress Nikki who was very attentive.The meal as usual was quite exceptional. Whenever we have a special event to celebrate Smiths is the No 1 restaurant we choose.

We came in for a meal last Saturday, 5th June. I just wanted to tell you what a lovely meal we had and how fantastic the waiting staff were. I didn't get the girls name, but we were on the round table directly opposite the front door (next to the bar area.) I never contact companies unless there is a problem normally, so its lovely to be able to send a note of thanks. I think we are too quick to complain i! n this day and age, but often neglect to praise when praise is due. A lovely meal and evening out. Thank you

Dear Smiths, This is just to add to the comments already on your noticeboard. To dine at Smiths is an experience. The cuisine is always excellent, the staff welcoming, helpful, and always friendly. It is like an endless dinner party amongst good friends - keep up the good work.

We are regular diners at Smiths,we came on Saturday and I had the hot prawns with garlic butter, they were out of this world. You really can not fault the food. Everyone is so helpful and attentive nothing is too much trouble. I want to say a special thanks to Charmaine & Michael. We will be back real soon!!!

We had a wonderful luncheon party on Saturday 16th October, the food (as usual) was excellent and the staff very smart and efficient which did not go unnoticed by our guests! Thank you all for the friendly atmosphere which made” Our Day” a very happy and memorable one. Joan and Roy Knott.
